Foundations in Preteen Ministry
Open up the horizons of your ministry to the older elementary kids and help them engage in a walk with Jesus that they own!
When planning a Children's and Youth ministry arc, the potential of the middle years (4th-6th grade) are not usually fully understood or captured. This course will open up the horizons of your ministry to the older elementary kids as we help them to engage with a walk with Jesus that they are moving towards owning for themselves.
Key Learning Objectives of Foundations in Preteen Ministry:
1- Understand what makes the preteen years unique, from a developmental standpoint
2- Grasp why methods used in ministry to younger and older kids aren’t as effective with preteens
3- Master five strategies that work well in ministering to preteens
4- Comprehend how to design and begin a preteen ministry
5- Engage practical teaching techniques that you can implement right away
6- Understand how preteens step into faith-ownership, and how to help them in this process
Preteens are different from younger children, and they require a unique strategy in order to maximize the amazing potential for spiritual growth that they have. In this course, you’ll learn how preteens are different and what to do about it. By the end of this course, you’ll have a complete plan in place that will help you to raise the value of your ministry to preteens and help them take steps into owning a faith in Jesus that is their own.
*Note: This course was previously published as Preteen Ministry 101. It has been renamed for clarity, and the videos have been updated; however, the content has not changed significantly, so the students of Preteen Ministry 101 do not need to re-enroll in this course. We recommend former Preteen Ministry 101 students enroll in the next level (think 201) of our preteen ministry course series, Proactive Preteen Ministry.
